Food Shelf

The CAP Agency Food Shelf in Shakopee offers people in need an immediate supply of food. The Food Shelf provides fresh produce, dairy items, bakery goods, and meat, as well as nonperishables.

Food Shelf Lobby hours:
Monday – 8:30am – 4:30pm
Tuesday – 8:00am – 4:30pm
Wednesday – 8:00am – 4:30pm
Thursday – 8:00am – 4:30pm
Friday – 8:00am – 4:30pm
 
Food Shelf Appointment hours:
Monday – 8:30am – 2:00pm
Tuesday – 8:30am – 3:00pm
Wednesday – 9:00am – 2:00pm
Thursday – 8:30am – 3:00pm
Friday – 9:00am – 2:00pm
 

Inside shopping and curbside pickup available.

At this time, we are not accepting new volunteer applications at our food shelf. We will update our website and volunteer application when this need changes. Please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator – Lilly Halvorson at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Important Notice

Each household can visit the Food Shelf one time per calendar month. If you have an emergency and need another visit, please contact the Food Shelf manager at [email protected].

Due to limited appointments, please do not schedule more than 1 appointment in the calendar month. Additional appointments will be cancelled, so we can ensure availability for others. If you need to cancel and reschedule, please contact Kim at [email protected].

To schedule an appointment:

  • Click the box to schedule curbside pickup or shopping inside.
  • You must click “SUBMIT” button after selecting appointment date/time in order to confirm your appointment. If you do not click “SUBMIT”, your appointment will not save.
  • If you are unable to make your appointment, please cancel your appointment online.

Please ensure you check your email for the confirmation email before scheduling any additional appointments.

Due to the high demand to use the Food Shelf, if the day and time you would like to come in isn’t available and you are willing to do curbside, please call 952-496-2125 option 1, and we will try to fit you in.

  • Second Harvest Heartland hosts a free food pop-up the second Thursday of every month: Friendship Church, 17741 Fairlawn Ave, Prior Lake, MN  55372, 5:30-7:30 pm. 
  • Loaves and Fishes offers a free evening meal on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 5:30-6:30pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 119 8th Ave West, Shakopee, MN 55379.
  • Ruby’s Pantry offers meals once a month.
