We cannot do the work we do without our volunteers.

Because of our incredible volunteers, CAP Agency is able to carry out our mission of assisting and empowering people to achieve social and economic well-being in partnership with the community. In 2025, 647 volunteers dedicated 18,769 hours and drove 102,364 miles to help strengthen the community.

Community Programs Volunteer

Volunteering with CAP Agency has strengthened my compassion and reinforced the importance of community resources in promoting both physical and mental well-being. This experience has helped me understand the connection between mental health and social support. When people receive help from their community, it can reduce stress and make them feel valued and supported. As a nursing student, volunteering reminds me that health is not only about medical treatment but also about addressing social needs.

Volunteering provides me with a rewarding satisfaction that completing these chores has a great impact on people and hopefully makes their lives a little easier. How to Volunteer

Getting started is simple.

Complete the volunteer application, submit the photo release form, and contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you are interested in group volunteer opportunities.

2. Submit Release

After completing the application, submit the photo release form so CAP Agency has the required information on file.

Food Shelf
Food Shelf Volunteer – help sort food items, stock shelves, pack curbside orders, and assist clients with shopping. Open shift: Wednesday mornings (8:30am-12:00pm) Food Shelf Driver – drive a CAP Agency van and pickup donated food items from local grocery stores (Monday-Friday mornings starting at 7:00am)
Senior Nutrition
Deliver meals to seniors (Chaska/Victoria, Chanhassen/Waconia/Cologne/NYA, Jordan/New Prague, Shakopee, Prior Lake, Rosemount/Apple Valley, Lakeville/Farmington)
CHORE
Assist seniors with home maintenance projects, yardwork, etc.

Background checks are mandatory for all volunteers. By checking this box, you consent to the CAP Agency using your date of birth to conduct a criminal background check with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. If you are the parent or guardian of a volunteer under 18, checking this box confirms that you have granted permission for your child to volunteer at the CAP Agency and that you assume full responsibility for their actions.
