Food for Thought during Minnesota FoodShare Month!

Our Minnesota FoodShare 2024 campaign is underway, and we are so thankful for all the support and contributions we have already received from partners and neighbors like YOU! The campaign ends on April 6th, 2024. We still need YOUR HELP to raise $100,000 and 100,000 lbs. of food to stock our CAP Agency food shelf. Please help us “Put a CAP on Hunger”!

Last year our CAP Agency food shelf and free food distribution events provided 110,750 individuals from 31,929 households with 2.5 million lbs. of healthy and nutritious food.

Across the nation millions of seniors, children, disabled adults, and financially challenged families are struggling in the face of steeper food costs due to increasing inflation pressures. And while our Minnesota winter weather has been surprisingly milder than usual, many of our food-insecure neighbors are experiencing one of the hungriest seasons on record.

You can be a SPECIAL part of the EXCITING effort to “Put a CAP on Hunger” in 2024. As Nate Bostrom, Volunteer Coordinator for CAP, recently posted on LinkedIn:

“Isn’t it wonderful when people and organizations come together as community partners to serve our neighbors? Major kudos to all the volunteers and donors who recently joined to serve 1,008 people and 365 households via a free food distribution event: county government employees, local restaurant owners, church members, employees, retirees, and 7th & 8th grade students from a nearby middle school…THANK YOU!”

There are exciting ways you can get involved to help us “Put a CAP on Hunger” through April 6th:

  • Host a Food Collection Drive and/or Fundraiser
  • Make a personal, corporate, or congregational Financial Contribution to CAP Agency
  • Share information about CAP’s Minnesota FoodShare Campaign
