Help bring holiday cheer to CAP clients this season! With budgets being stretched thin for necessities, Hope for the Holidays eases the burden on parents and families, and provides comfort and connection to seniors. Hope for the Holidays matches donations with children, parents, and seniors to ensure everyone feels the generosity of the community through our support network, new gifts, and/or household supplies.
Please join us by donating gifts or volunteering your time to sort and pass out gifts!

Adopt-a-Family spreads the joy of the holidays by providing children and families with gifts. Client families create wish lists and are matched with donors who donate gifts specific to those families.
Your financial obligation for each child adopted is $50, including one $50 gift card for the parent/adults in the home.

Brighten a senior’s day by providing comfort and care items this holiday season! Registration is open through Thursday, November 30th, so please sign up and help us plan for how many seniors will receive gift bags this year.
This Holiday season, please fill a reusable bag with items our seniors most often need. The goodie bag of items you purchase will be hand delivered through our CHORE volunteers, creating a personal connection during a holiday season that is lonely for many older adults.
Donors fill a reusable bag with the following items, which are then dispersed to participating seniors:
– Dish soap
– Dish towels
– Toilet paper (4-pack)
– Paper towels (1 roll)
– Package of coffee
– $10 Gift card (Cub, Walgreens, Dollar Store)
Other suggested items (include 1-2 of the following): slipper socks, puzzle, books, word search, greeting cards/note cards, stamps, a hand-written note.
Write a special note or include a holiday card for your senior! A friendly note goes a long way in showing that someone cares.
Important Adopt-a-Senior Dates

This year we added the Amazon Wish List as a way to donate gifts to our Toy Distribution program. This option makes giving easy; all you do is click the wish list created by CAP clients, and packages will be sent directly to our food shelf for distribution. Please email us to let us know you ordered so we can thank you and provide you with a donation receipt. This is a great way to give to those in need during the busy holiday season!
Toy Distribution differs from Adopt-a-Family and Adopt-a-Senior in that a donor gathers new toys to be distributed to the greater community instead of being paired directly with a family. This is a great opportunity for companies, churches, or community clubs looking for a year-end donation opportunity. Specifically, toys are distributed to children from birth to age 18 whose families utilize CAP’s Food Shelf or Energy Assistance programs. Collected toys should not be gift wrapped.

CAP Agency takes great care to ensure that all personal information is kept confidential. This means that families can receive the help they need without any fear of their personal information being shared with other organizations or individuals who donate to the program. This commitment to privacy is a testament to CAP Agency’s dedication to supporting families in a respectful and compassionate manner.
As the December holiday season quickly approaches, there are countless projects filled with the spirit of giving. Our holiday activities at the CAP Agency include Adopt-a-Family, Toy Distribution, and Adopt-a-Senior. Each of these activities depend on volunteers to ensure gifts are provided for the families we serve. Volunteering provides the opportunity to give toys to children or deliver essentials to a senior, and this helps remind us of the importance of caring.
We invite you, friends, family (including older children) to assist in selecting gifts for families and take this opportunity to give back to their community. We also welcome school groups, organizations, or local businesses to volunteer!
